​I explore how light and color interact as they move through faceted glass objects. I aim to capture the entrancing moment when light bounces off of a reflective surface and contorts itself while finding its own path through the intricacies of crystal glass in fine detail. The vibrant and sensational qualities in my work reflect my personal love and appreciation for color.

I gravitate towards highly saturated colors because they enhance my life and have a positive impact on how I feel when I am surrounded by them. In this series I am activating the entire color spectrum to maximize the intensity of those feelings and visual effect.

I take pride in the process of choosing the glass objects, placing them against colorful backdrops, and taking photographs in a controlled environment to paint from. This process of object and environment selection are integral parts of creating the effect I desire to capture. By incorporating vibrant colors into my work it allows me to present the subject matter in a unique way that makes the familiar object feel unfamiliar.

This body of work allows me to embrace my passion for the ethereal and atmospheric effects of light and color and my love for geometric and analytic details.
